Nant Francon is a deep Classic U shaped glaciated valley. The A5 makes its way up the eastern side of the valley, but over on its western side a minor road offers a more leisurely way up. Travelling from north to south along this road provides wonderful glimpses of Y Glyder. This little road featured on the recent TV drama documentary 'Mr Bates versus the Post Office' The house Mr Bates and his wife moved to after being kicked out of their Post Office in Llandudno is on this road.
