Established in 1986, the Rob Piercy Gallery is an artist run gallery situated conveniently in the centre of Porthmadog in North Wales. The gallery was converted from an old waterboard depot and had to be totally renovated. Thirty four years on and another major refurbishment is taking place reducing the exhibiting space significantly to facilitate our plan of converting part of the building into our new home. The new gallery space sports a brand new glazed entrance atrium.
This new space will now exclusively be for my original paintings. My prints and cards etc., along with our framing service, is now based in our new shop on Snowdon Street, next to the entrance to Oriel Rob Piercy.
The gallery is currently closed while the building work takes place. Our new shop is still open.
In 2019 we opened our print and framing shop on Snowdon Street. This gave us a shop window at long last and allows us to keep the originals part of the business separate from the prints and framing.
Originally this was a hardware shop and the buildings at the back which has housed the gallery for nearly 35 years was a warehouse and stables. It is satisfying to know that the two buildings are now back together under the same ownership.
The shop is currently open from Monday to Saturday, 10:00 until 17:00, but that may change as the Covid 19 situation plays out.
This is our seasonal gallery in the village of Portmeirion. We open here approximately from Easter to October, from 10:00-17:00 every day. The village is currently open, but that may change as the COVID-19 situation plays out.
Recently there has been a festival held in the village at the beginning of September. Unfortunately we have to vacate the building for a week whilst the festival takes place.
