Opposite the foot of the North Ridge of Tryfan a track leads due north to Tal y Llyn Ogwen farm. From this farm an indistinct path continues northwards to eventually arrives at Cwm Lloer. 
I have discovered that by traversing westwards off this path you arrive at a spot where you get spectacular views into Cwm Idwal.
