To residents of Eifionydd Y Lon Goed is a well known feature. Created in the early 19th century to facilitate the movement of limestone and peat, it is now used recreationally by many walkers. It is approximately 5 to 6 miles long but the more noteworthy parts are towards the south where the trees lining the lane are at their most impressive.
