There are two seasons when the Traeth Mawr (the Glaslyn and Dwyryd estuary) looks it's most dramatic - the Spring and Autumn. During this time of the year the sun is at a perfect height above the north Rhinogydd hills to illuminate the sea and sand, leaving the land in darkness. This phenomenan does not happen often.
