Llanddwyn beach is situated at the south western most point of Ynys Mon. Its most southern tip forms the western entrance of Afon Menai (Menai Strait)
On the opposite end of this long stretch of sand lies Ynys Dwynwen (Dwynwen's Isle) The Welsh patron saint of lovers.
The walk from the car park to the lighthouse at the tip of the island is a spectacular coastal walk, best done during a howling gale.
